Colour note: leather is a natural material and some variation between hides is to be expected. Please bear in mind that monitor settings may also create variance.
To figure out your perfect fit, measure a well fitting belt from the place at which the buckle is attached to the most used hole.
Alternatively, if you do have a tape measure to hand, measure over your trousers, exactly as you would wear the belt - which allows for the added bulk of the trousers.
A full grain, natural finish, this leather's charm comes as it is used, aged, and gathers memories.
The leather we use for our classic belts is low maintenance and easy to care for. Most small scratches can be polished out with a clean, soft cloth.
Try not to let your new leather accessory get wet; if it does, allow it to dry naturally - away from heaters - and it might be worth giving it a little condition after.
If you feel it’s in need of some extra affection, you might like to use a leather conditioner. Anything with beeswax or natural oils is best. Feel free to get in touch for our own recommendation.
We do not recommend using a coloured conditioner, as there is a high risk of colour transfer onto clothes. A neutral one will rejuvenate the colour slightly without the risk of damage.
The buckles we use for our classic belts are Brass or Zamak which shines up well with typical metal polishes. Always test the polish in an inconspicuous place first.
All of our leather is supplied by tanneries who are audited and certified by the Leather Working Group.
The Leather Working Group is the world’s largest leather sustainability program. LWG has identified environmental best practices in the industry and audits tanneries to assess the environmental performance of leather manufacturing facilities – and certifies those that meet the standards.
The leather used for our Belts is supplied by a Tuscan tannery that has a Silver Rating from the LWG, as well as being a member of The Genuine Italian Vegetable Tanned Leather Consortium.
The Consortium’s mission is to safeguard the centuries-old tradition of vegetable tanning and to guarantee the quality of the raw material and workmanship. The Consortium guarantees manufacturing processes compatible with the ecosystem and not harmful to people.

This is my second purchase from Village Leathers - I bought the black version of this belt around 18 months ago, have worn it nearly every day since, and it still looks great. Sturdy leather but flexible enough that it moulds to your body shape over time. The brown option is a nice rich colour with a slightly textured surface and I'm sure it will wear as well as my first. Delivery was fast as well, being dispatched the same day as I ordered it and arriving within a couple of days. Safe to say Etsy is my favourite buying platform, due to individuals such as village leathers! Lovely belt. Worn it to work daily since it’s arrival, I am excited to experience life alongside my lovely new belt. My first one was too small (XS) so I had it exchanged for a small and now it’s perfect :)
The belt fits well, however in the picture the leather texture was easily seen, but the actual belt had a nearly glossy finish on it, not matte with texture like the photo used when I purchased it. Disappointing.

My 3rd belt from Village Leathers and all three have been excellent
I bought this as a gift for my partner to wear at our wedding. I checked the size against his other belts to make sure it would fit well, however it was slightly too short when he tried it on and although it would go on fine, there was not enough length at the end to tuck into the belt loop. We decided to return it for a bigger size as we thought it looked silly, and went to do it in store to make sure we could get it done before the wedding. However my partner was told that he couldnt return it and that it would stretch over time. I chose this belt as I have two belts from here that I love but I am wary of choosing another due to the sizing issue we had. Maybe include a picture or description that shows where the measurements are taken from (e.g including buckle).
This new belt is identical to the one I have had for years which is looking a little tired but not going in the bin for a good few more years. Just needed something a little smarter.
It’s darker (brown) than I was expecting from the photos, but it has a lovely flexible leather feel, and I am sure it will last well. Overall very pleased.
