1" Classic Tan
A highly versatile tan leather belt, cut from full grain vegetable tanned leather, 1" wide (25 mm) and always handmade in London.
Colour note: leather is a natural material and some variation between hides is to be expected. Please bear in mind that monitor settings may also create variance.
To figure out your perfect fit, measure a well fitting belt from the place at which the buckle is attached to the most used hole.
Alternatively, if you do have a tape measure to hand, measure over your trousers, exactly as you would wear the belt - which allows for the added bulk of the trousers.
A full grain, natural finish, this leather's charm comes as it is used, aged, and gathers memories.
The leather we use for our classic belts is low maintenance and easy to care for. Most small scratches can be polished out with a clean, soft cloth.
Try not to let your new leather accessory get wet; if it does, allow it to dry naturally - away from heaters - and it might be worth giving it a little condition after.
If you feel it’s in need of some extra affection, you might like to use a leather conditioner. Anything with beeswax or natural oils is best. Feel free to get in touch for our own recommendation.
We do not recommend using a coloured conditioner, as there is a high risk of colour transfer onto clothes. A neutral one will rejuvenate the colour slightly without the risk of damage.
The buckles we use for our classic belts are Brass or Zamak which shines up well with typical metal polishes. Always test the polish in an inconspicuous place first.
All of our leather is supplied by tanneries who are audited and certified by the Leather Working Group.
The Leather Working Group is the world’s largest leather sustainability program. LWG has identified environmental best practices in the industry and audits tanneries to assess the environmental performance of leather manufacturing facilities – and certifies those that meet the standards.
The leather used for our Belts is supplied by a Tuscan tannery that has a Silver Rating from the LWG, as well as being a member of The Genuine Italian Vegetable Tanned Leather Consortium.
The Consortium’s mission is to safeguard the centuries-old tradition of vegetable tanning and to guarantee the quality of the raw material and workmanship. The Consortium guarantees manufacturing processes compatible with the ecosystem and not harmful to people.

I bought 3 of these in different colors and I just love them. They did smell strongly of leather at first but it has diminished with a few wears.
I bought a size that I could wear lower towards my hips as well as up on the small of my waist. However I had to insert additional holes with a leather punch thingy and the tail was a bit long. I think of I'd gotten the right size for my smallest waist then these issues wouldn't have come up obviously but I wanted a multi purpose belt!

I bought 2 leather belts from village leather, one black and one brown and I must say that I love them. The quality was good, and it fits perfectly with my fashion.

I have just turfed out approximately 6 belts due to them laminating into 3 layers. Clearly they're not full leather, unlike my 1 inch tan leather belt from Village Leathers. The quality is far superior.

I was absolutely shocked with how quickly I received this. I ordered this on the 13th and it made its way from London to Indianapolis (USA) by the 19th — in 6 days!!! I cannot comment on the belt I bought yet as I won’t see it until I arrive on a family visit in Wales next week to where my belt was correctly shipped. I’m currently in California. In the process of buying the belt I phoned Village Leathers a couple of times and was very happy in how my questions and requests were answered and handled. I hope i’ve selected the correct size for my belt because I want to buy a black version as well.

This belt is really good quality leather, and it's great that you can choose the exact buckle you want! I use mine as a waist belt for dresses that originally came with plastic-y and flimsy belts, so I have definitely upgraded!
