Bennet Brown Leather Messenger Bag

Designed with a focus on simple, everyday utility, our Bennet brown leather messenger bags are handmade in London from Italian vegetable tanned leather.

Measuring 26 x 20 cm with a depth of 7cm, we wanted to create a mid-size everyday satchel style bag, detailed with chunky brown stitch and featuring a flat internal pocket with 15 cm zip opening.

The strap is made from 40 mm wide brown webbing, chosen for comfort and durability with length adjustment up to 150 cm.

Securing with a heavy duty catch and completed with matching silver finish fittings.

Always handmade in London, the Bennet showcases the unique natural grain leather, hardwearing and long lasting that will take on character and personality with use.

Colour note: leather is a natural material and some variation between hides is to be expected. Please bear in mind that monitor settings may also create variance.

The vegetable tanned leather is free of any heavy finishes or top coats, so may transfer colour onto light clothing at first, until a natural patina is developed.

We’d recommend a soft brush or a slightly damp cloth to give it a gentle clean, and most small scratches can be polished out with a clean, soft cloth. If you feel it’s in need of some extra affection, you might like to use a leather conditioner - look out for one containing beeswax and/or natural oils. Although be mindful of potential oil transfer.

Try not to let your new leather accessory get wet; if it does, allow it to dry naturally - away from heaters - and it might be worth giving it a little condition after. 

There is a risk of colour transfer should it get wet but being vegetable tanned, any transfer should come out with normal laundry detergent.

The Leather Working Group is the world’s largest leather sustainability program. LWG has identified environmental best practices in the industry and audits tanneries to assess the environmental performance of leather manufacturing facilities – and certifies those that meet the standards.

Everything here is handmade in London by a member of our small team, which means that orders can take up to 5 working days to complete - especially one off custom orders and those with personalisation.
