Description
A simple elegant glasses case in vegetable tanned black leather. Cut from a single piece of sustainably sourced leather the minimalist design of our black glasses sleeve protects your glasses without excess bulk or weight. Handmade in our small London workshop, measuring 17 cm high with an 8cm opening, and subtly blind embossed with our logo. We have created a run of accessories crafted from our favourite Italian vegetable tanned leather which we use for our belts. The finish is a softer more rustic feel; the vegetable tanning process is a lower impact method which beautifully highlights the natural grain and texture, creating a mottled unique leather which takes individuality and charm with use.
Specification

- 2.2 - 2.4 mm thick vegetable tanned leather from Italy.

- 17 cm with 8 cm opening.

- Heavy duty machine stitched.

- Handmade in London.

Colour note: leather is a natural material and some variation between hides is to be expected. Please bear in mind that monitor settings may also create variance.

Care

A full grain, natural finish, this leather's charm comes as it is used, aged, and gathers memories.
We’d recommend a soft brush or a slightly damp cloth to give it a gentle clean, and most small scratches can be polished out with a clean, soft cloth. If you feel it’s in need of some extra affection, you might like to use a leather conditioner - look out for one containing beeswax and/or natural oils. Although be mindful of oil transfer if it's being carried in pockets/bags.
Try not to let your new leather accessory get wet; if it does, allow it to dry naturally - away from heaters - and it might be worth giving it a little condition after.

A full grain, natural finish, this leather's charm comes as it is used, aged, and gathers memories.

The leather we use for our classic belts is low maintenance and easy to care for. Most small scratches can be polished out with a clean, soft cloth.

Try not to let your new leather accessory get wet; if it does, allow it to dry naturally - away from heaters - and it might be worth giving it a little condition after.

If you feel it’s in need of some extra affection, you might like to use a leather conditioner. Anything with beeswax or natural oils is best. Feel free to get in touch for our own recommendation.

We do not recommend using a coloured conditioner, as there is a high risk of colour transfer onto clothes. A neutral one will rejuvenate the colour slightly without the risk of damage.

The buckles we use for our classic belts are Brass or Zamak which shines up well with typical metal polishes. Always test the polish in an inconspicuous place first.

Sustainability

All of our leather is supplied by tanneries who are audited and certified by the Leather Working Group.

The Leather Working Group is the world’s largest leather sustainability program. LWG has identified environmental best practices in the industry and audits tanneries to assess the environmental performance of leather manufacturing facilities – and certifies those that meet the standards.

The leather used for our Belts is supplied by a Tuscan tannery that has a Silver Rating from the LWG, as well as being a member of The Genuine Italian Vegetable Tanned Leather Consortium.

The Consortium’s mission is to safeguard the centuries-old tradition of vegetable tanning and to guarantee the quality of the raw material and workmanship. The Consortium guarantees manufacturing processes compatible with the ecosystem and not harmful to people.

Quality product - thick leather, beautiful texture, firm enough to provide proper protection without being too hard. Also fits in my pocket. Just what I was after.

Understated Quality

I use this case for reading glasses so it is in & out of pockets and the glasses are removed and replaced many times every day - it has to work well and be strongly made. For me the case scores highly on both counts. The leather is supple but quite thick so that it is stiff enough to provide adequate protection and this also prevents the glasses slipping out too easily. Sounds simple but there are lots of poorly designed cases about and so it is great to find a quality British hand made well priced product. Thank you!
