Chiku Geometric Black Leather Crossbody Bag
Measuring 21 cm x 22 cm, these woven black crossbody bags are handmade in London and completed with a buckle adjustable strap.
Created by interlocking together multiple small pieces of full grain black leather, and wonderful way of repurposing offcuts that results in a unique geometric finish.
Always with an eye to minimising waste, we're delighted to have found this way of repurposing offcuts; a jigsaw-like tessellation of small pieces that create larger panels perfect for making soft structure handbags.
This method of construction results in a unique geometric finish, and the use of multiple pieces showcases the beautiful variety and texture of natural full grain leather.
Handmade in London, these black leather crossbody bags are lined with a heavy duty polycotton drill and feature an internal pocket with 15 cm zip.
Measuring 21 cm x 22 cm, the Chiku crossbody bag is completed with an adjustable shoulder strap - cut from vegetable tanned leather, detailed with a silver finish buckle and adjustable in length from 128 - 137 cm.
Although the weaving process is labour intensive, we love this unusual geometric finish and the pleasure in using up as much of the leather we source as possible!

Colour note: leather is a natural material and some variation between hides is to be expected. Please bear in mind that monitor settings may also create variance.
A full grain, natural finish, this leather's charm comes as it is used, aged, and gathers memories.
We'd recommend a soft brush or a slightly damp cloth to give it a gentle clean, and most small scratches can be polished out with a clean, soft cloth. If you feel it’s in need of some extra affection, you might like to use a leather conditioner - look out for one containing beeswax and/or natural oils. Although be mindful of oil transfer if it's being carried in pockets/bags.
Try not to let your new leather accessory get wet; if it does, allow it to dry naturally - away from heaters - and it might be worth giving it a little condition after.
There is a risk of colour transfer should it get wet but being vegetable tanned, any transfer should come out with normal laundry detergent. There are sealant sprays available, which do help protect your leather goods and can also help protect colour transfer onto lighter coloured clothing.
To us, it’s important that the leather we use aligns with our values. Alongside creating long lasting, timeless products, we ensure we minimise our impact on the planet, by crafting our pieces responsibly.
All of our leather is supplied by tanneries who are audited and certified by the Leather Working Group.
The Leather Working Group is the world’s largest leather sustainability program. LWG has identified environmental best practices in the industry and audits tanneries to assess the environmental performance of leather manufacturing facilities – and certifies those that meet the standards.
